Agnes L is multitalented lady. She is a Brand Manager at a telecommunications service provider as well as a Co-Founder of DIYKL. On a daily basis, she’s required to attend meetings and do presentations while on the weekends, she organizes workshops such as photography, calligraphy and other DIY classes.
Basically, everyday she meets people and hence, image is so important in her life.
BEFORE
At her 9-5 job, Agnes mostly stays in her office and requires to do quite a bit of presentations to her bosses and fellow colleagues. Occasionally, she is required to meet with potential business partners for meetings.
When it comes to dressing up daily for her work, she prefers to stay comfortable yet presentable. She did raised her concern about being a pear-shape and she prefer outfits that emphasize less on her hip.
AFTER
Agnes love a comfortable and stretchable top, hence we picked this UNIQLO U Collection white top and matched it with a mini polka-dot Ines De La Fressange wrapped skirt. This skirt is great to take the focus off her hip and still look flattering.
She also mentioned her workplace can get chilly at times so we threw on a lightweight trench coat on top of this outfit. There are a lot of misconceptions about trench coats are only for 4 season places. This lightweight trench coat is suitable even for South East Asia countries especially those working in offices with air-condition.
There are a few points you must put in mind when it comes to styling for office-wear:
- Outfits must be tidy and not crinkled.
- Work dress or skirt should give you room to move yet flatters you on places that needs to be. Not too tight and uncomfortable.
- Black heels or shoes are your best tool for mix & match.
- If you like color, focus on one loud color and keep everything else simple.
Apart from styling, grooming is important too. You don’t have to spend a million dollar to look like a million dollar. Like Agnes, her hair just need to be tidy and makeup kept simple. She looks good with an earthy tone lipstick, nicely shaped eyebrows and an eyeliner. Just like the picture below.
