Terrie is a lady who knows how to pamper and take good care of herself. She’s an epitome of what Malaysians call “tai-tai”.
She enjoys shopping and we have, no doubt, that she deserves the best. Terrie came to us for some minor guidance on staying subtle but still splurge on oneself.
BEFORE
Terrie enjoys her time out with friends for afternoon coffee breaks. Unfortunately, during the MCO (COVID19 quarantine period), she’s unable to dress up and head out to meet with her friends.
So, we asked her what would she wear at home and what would she do to occupy her time during the quarantine? She mentioned she loves loungewear and most of the time, she had Zoom video calls with her friends.
AFTER
Loungewear is something very personal and it should be very comfortable. It can be hard to pull off at first, but once you master it, there’s no turning back. Our basic rule is – You must be comfortable in what you wear!
Wearing loungewear doesn’t have to be sloppy. Like Terrie, she already has this very comfortable, monogram loungewear that’s made out of silk. Instead of wearing both top & bottom at the same time, which made it look very busy, we advise her to match the bottom with something more plain.
Here are a few pointers to remember when it comes to styling loungewear:
- If you like loud colors or monograms, do that for either the top or bottom, and keep everything else simple.
- Wear some light makeup so you look presentable on video calls.
- Choose a comfortable and presentable loungewear to wear out or else, it’s better to keep loungewear at home.
One main rule to remember is:
DO NOT wear loungewear to work unless it is presentable enough or you are matching it like how we styled Terrie.
This is appropriate for weekends and work from home but not to the office. Wear outfits appropriately and accordingly to the occasion.
